Day 313
I started my field experience for Level 2 today. This is the class I will be teaching in. Aren't they cute? They are just all smiles! I taught my first lesson today. I was so nervous, but I think it went pretty well. (I didn't want to invade anyone's privacy, so that's why they all have smily faces on them).Thursday, November 5, 2009

Day 302
Before class today, I went to go see if I could find my other math teacher. I wanted to talk to her about Diane, but she wasn't there when I got there. Because her office is right across the hall from Diane's office, it was hard to miss the large card on Diane's door. As I signed the card, I couldn't help but think about how unreal this whole situation seems. It's really hard for me to think that she's gone! I couldn't help but shed some tears as I looked through the pictures on Diane's door. I am going to miss her so very much! She was an amazing friend & teacher! Wednesday, October 28, 2009
Day 301
One of the most amazing teachers I have ever had passed away this morning. She and another awesome teacher of mine were just named Math Teachers of the Year for the state of Utah! She is one of the main reasons why I decided to become a math specialist. I just can't believe she can be teaching class one day and be gone the next! Life is too short. I am going to miss her so much! Thanks for being such a great example to me, Diane! I love you & miss you!Wednesday, October 21, 2009

Day 34
Here is a picture of me & my friend, Jamie. Jamie & I met almost two years ago in our MATH 2010 class (It's a teacher education class). Ever since then, we have been in at least one math class together every semester. We have taken a total of 6 classes together, and they have been the funnest classes ever! Our teachers are awesome, but it's mostly fun because we work well together. Our friendship is really funny because we are always tallking about the other person to our spouse/significant other, but the spouse/significant other have never met the other person. After two years of class and phone calls, you'd think we would have met. I am going to be sad when this semester is over because Jamie is student teaching in the summer and then she will be done with school. :( We are hoping to someday be able to work together because we would be awesome together! We have had so much fun over the past two years! Friday, January 30, 2009

Day 21
So I feel like I am back in elementary school. I am taking a Creative Processes class this semester and we are learning how to play the recorder. The last time I touched one of these things I was in 5th grade! I even remember (and can still play) the song we learned how to play. I guess "Hot Cross Buns" is a great song for beginners because that's what we are learning now. I feel like a pro because I already know that song, but I am still enjoying learning all about how to read music. This class is the funnest, and strangest, class I have ever taken! (Oh, I have almost perfected "Jingle Bells". Too bad Christmas is over!)P.S. The shirt I am wearing in this picture is the shirt Andy won at the tubing activity with the young adult ward. It fits me perfectly.

Day 11
Here is the problem that we were trying to solve. See if you can find the correct answer and then comment what you found. (Hint: Draw a picture).
A motorcyclist was sent by the post office to meet a plane at the airport. The plane landed ahead of schedule, and its mail was taken toward the post office by horse. After half an hour, the horseman met the motorcyclist on the road and gave him the mail. The motorcyclist returned to the post office 20 minutes before he was expected. How many minutes early did the plane land?
